The last thing to do for your Integration that is already created, set up, connected to the data source and filled with data from it is setting up a data collection Schedule rules. These rules will make sure the data is always relevant and updated right when you need it to be.
They are created and managed on the Schedule page of your Integration. Same as for the other pages, when you open it for the first time, it's empty:
Schedule rules of all the Integrations of your account are available in the Schedules section of it.
What is a Schedule Rule
Basically, a Schedule rule is a set of parameters for an Integration task to run with. That being said, the set consists of the Integration task run parameters (1) and a scheduling tool plus an on/off switch (2), see the Create a Schedule Rule dialogue:
So if you need a certain Integration task to run on a certain schedule, you just create a Schedule rule for it.
Set the rules
Update my data every Wednesday morning
Let's imagine that you're checking your TikTok data every Wednesday and you need data for the last 7 days. Updating the data at 8:00 AM every Wednesday seems okay for this case. Using the scheduling tool's accurate setting mode, you can create such Schedule rule for the Statistics Range data collection task:
With this Schedule rule created and enabled, your Schedule page will look like this:
Let's create one more rule to ensure we're good with it.
Update my data twice a month
Say, you need your TikTok stats for the last 30 days updated twice a month. Using the relative range of our date range picker, you can select the "last 30 days" range not even counting them really. Next, with the scheduling tool's accurate setting mode, set it to "every 15 days of month". And that's it:
Click the CREATE button to add this rule to the list.
Now that you have two Schedule rules for this Integration, your Schedule page looks like this:
You can have a quick look at the Integration's overall schedule and manage it from here.
Conclusion and next steps
Now we have your TikTok Integration:
- created, set up
- connected to the data source
- filled with data from it
- the data's relevance is also ensured
This Integration is fully prepared to take its part in a more complicated Merge Module Integration that will merge data from multiple Integrations into one good report.
Well, for the MM Integration to merge data, we have to have more than one Integration and at the moment we only have the TikTok one. Please prepare another Integration - say, a Facebook one - just the same way we did for TikTok. After that do proceed to the first step of creating a Merge Module Integration - building a merging data flow.
